Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is one of the fastest, easiest and most convenient methods of concealing visible dental flaws. It is basically the use of tooth-colored restorative material i.e. composite, to cover superficial imperfections for aesthetically pleasing results.

Unlike veneers, which require tooth preparation, impressions and/or digital mapping, bonding is relatively simple and non-invasive. It can, in a matter of minutes, fix flaws such as:

The tooth is first etched with acid to create mirco-porosities which help the composite bond micomechanically with the enamel surface. The filling material is then placed on the tooth in small increments and manipulated to replicate the natural contour and morphology. The filling is then set or hardened with the help of a dental light. It is finally polished with rotating discs to give the restoration the perfect look.
